Cinch MK4 DMF problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

I purchased a Ford focus mk4 1.5l 55,000 miles ecoblue from Cinch and on the first drive I noticed that the clutch made a grumbling warping noise at the top of the pedal.

I sent it into my local main dealer and they have said it is the clutch release bearing.

they want to replace the 3 part clutch kit and a new dmf

cinch are arguing that as it is only the bearing all I need is the clutch kit and not the dmf.

I personally have always changed a dmf at the same time as the clutch and think this is cinch being tight.

what do you think?

I have to agree with Cinch on this. It might be good practice to replace the DMF when your doing the job yourself or paying a garage to do the work on the clutch but that is just your choice. If there is nothing wrong with the DMF at this time then Cinch are quite within their rights to say they won't pay to have something replaced just encase it might be a problem at sometime in the future.
