Hi I own a Ford Focus mk3 (2013) at the moment my tyre size is 235/40/R18 , any idea if I could fit 235/45/R18 ?? 
Reason being that due to loads of path holes on the roads I keep getting bulges in my tyres. 
If anyone fitted bigger profile tyres on his Focus please let me know if they fit.

    Hi George,

    Fitting 45 profile on existing wheels would affect overall circumference throwing your speedo out. You would need to go to a 17" wheel, and if you were doing that you might even consider going to 16" and even higher profile if ride is your main concern.

     Plenty of tyre/wheel size calculators on the web where you can look at various combinations.

    I'm away at the coast at the mo (enjoying the snow, ice, sleet, wind and rain) so didn't get chance to look that up earlier before venturing out for some (very) fresh air.

    Not actually too bad speedo error in that instance and increase in sidewall would be useful.

    Edit: I have noticed quite a few posts on other forums recently on the theme of some tyre fitting chains refusing to fit non-standard tyre sizes (ie ones not mentioned on the door pillar sticker).
