Hi all

New to the forum after buying a ford focus titanium 1.6 diesel 2014

sorry if it’s the wrong place for this but after buying he car a few days ago I’ve noticed the climate control very strange 

so first of all it was all fine then today it just blows cold even after 30 mins in the car, topped coolant up and seemed ok for a trip
just got back in car and it’s blowing cold again, only time it goes warm is if it’s set to 28/29 degrees on the digital, soon as I go below 24 it’s cold again 

just seems it’s only hot on full temp, any ideas or is it a garage trip?

Sounds quite normal for a 1.6 diesel.

The engines take a very long time to warm up. I can't say for sure about your car, but on many there is an electric heater (like a toaster element) that switches on if you set the temp to 27^oC or higher.

I had an old fiat and I know it's a ***** car, however that was a sign when the head was about to go, wouldn't blow warm air at all only went the (Toaster wires) heated up. 

The heater blows hot air pretty much 5 minutes after engines started and its perfect with heater set at 23 degrees, next time I get in the car it will blow cold unless I turn it up to 28 degrees MAX

then when I turn down it will not go cold until its at minimum, and then wont go hot again till it gets to 28 degrees

Its like there's something sticking and unless its adjusted well above or below it doesn't move but I am not sure the components that can stick inside
