replacing instrument panel problems

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Question for you all, I need to replace my 2008 2.0 TDCI CC3 instrument panel as mine has developed a terminal failure, have had it to repairers but been told cannot be fixed, so i need to replace it. As I understand I need to get one from a simuler (?) vehicle so ok then it needs to be synchronised to the key transponder is that all that is required?.I have found one with the same model number except for the last  letter HJ not HF does this matter. I have the FORD WDS PDU but my hard drive has become corrupted anybody know where I can get  replacement disks so I can re install the software. ( Need it to re synchronise replacement panel).

Cheers rrosscoe

Yes HJ will work fine as a replacement for HF.

The new instrument cluster needs to have mileage that is LESS than your existing IC as the mileage can only be adjusted upwards and not backwards.

You need a Laptop running windows (version 7 or 10 is best) and the software FORScan. To be able to reprogramme in the PATS security keys you will need the licensed version which is £12 for a year.  You will also need the connecting cable vLinker FS.

Hi ,

Thank you for reply, I have fitted and programmed 2 keys to replacement IC, now the pats indicator when ignition turned on stays lit, the IC self test gives A139 missmatch between IC and PMC so now need to re sync them. Have borrowed Forscan ELM 327 500K adaptor. is there a step by step guide in the forum I can follow, all the info I have read just says use Forscan to do it, which is easy if you are conversant with the program, which I am yet to try.

Regards

Hope you all had a good Christmas, Well, I managed to sync the PCM with the IC and I now have a car that runs. I have noticed that the Cruise control icon does not light up when selected, it does work though and the icon lights up with the IC self test. That was the good news the bad is that I still have the original fault of the engine cutting out momentarily and NO codes or any indication on the IC that anything is wrong. So today had IC out and did the soldering fix so will see what happens tomorrow

The new cluster needs to have cruise symbol enabled.

Used to do it in ELMConfig using a simple tick box but I think Forscan has the same functionality nowadays.

I know a guy that can ZERO the mileage on a cluster, its a closely guarded secret how. I know it works on Mk2's, not yet heard if Mk3's but probably a similar principal. He zero'd mine before returning.
