Electric windows stopped working

Featured Replies

I have a focus 2002

I put both electric windows down and now they will not go back up

Can any one help with this.

Please

Have you tried using the switch on the passenger door to see if that window will go back up ?

Have you had the car long and have the windows operated correctly previously?

I have experienced this previously (on a brand new car!) when the window went down but had jumped out of its channel so wouldn't raise. I could raise it manually by gripping the glass one hand on each side and manoeuvring it back into position.

Just a thought, but if the windows had not been opened for a long time (quite possible if the car has aircon) they may have stuck and jumped out of position.

I like a guy with optimism. A 2002 focus with working aircon 🤣

Try fuse F43 behind the glovebox.

Do you think Jeanette will ever be back, or yet another OPW?

Depends on how much she enjoys driving with the windows down at this time of year 🤣

Hi yes tried passenger switch that does not do anything.

Also tried fuses in glove box 37 40 43 and 56

Replace the drivers door window switch pack.

Look on eBay you will find them quite cheap.

Haha I'm back it's my mums car

I've had to cover the windows up and put a car cover over it till I can get it to a garage now.

We tried fuses behind glove box.

My partner got one from a breakers yard we tried it tonight but it didn't work unfortunately.

Do you think it is worth buying a new one to try ?

I would say no.

I have very little information on the 2002 Focus wiring, but if it follows the same configuration of later models then the windows will be controlled by the GEM

This in NOT a fix but it is a way to get the windows back up. Take the inside door card off so the you can get to the window motor. There will be a connector on the motor with just two wires. Swap the two wires over and then use the window down button which will make the window go up. Of course the window will no longer be able to go down.
