Fiesta 2006 MK5 Under Bonnet Sound Insulation Pad

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a made to fit under bonnet sound insulation pad for a Fiesta MK5 2006 1.4. All I can find rolls of sticky back dense foam.

Diesel Fiestas had them, so you might find a Ford one in a scrappy, but certainly with the 1.6 petrol, there is not a lot of clearance between airbox  and undeside of the bonnet.  I looked at fitting one to my Zetec S, and in the end, decided against it.

The 1.4 engine might not be as tall as the 1.6, so you might have moor clearance.

A 2006 Fiesta is a Mk6 in the UK not a 5

So it’s not a facelift MK5 or a MK5.5 then?  I’ll get my coat.

Not in the UK. We never had a MK5 facelift we called it a MK6 and then later a MK6.5 which is why in the UK the very last Fiestas are the Mk8 and the Mk8.5

A bit academic what MK it may be called, as I don't think ebay knows the difference, but if thr op wants a solution, he should look for a bonnet (of the correct generation!) that has the factory sound reducing panel, see if it fits, then sell the donor bonnet for more than he paid for it !

Happy Xmas to all our readers !

Yes and No. If they are searching for a Mk5 Fiesta it will possibly not bring up the correct parts. Also there are a lot more parts still available for the Mk6 so they a have a better chance. As far as eBay search goes it will probably offer the left rear door for a Routemaster bus 🤣

LH Rear Door for a Routemaster ?  Did not have rear doors when I used to get the 14 to Putney...

One of our great engineering achievements from the past !

TfL just left the door off to let the "fresh air" in 🤣
