ford fiesta mk6 strange sound drom the front....

Featured Replies

I have a question. I hear a strange sound from the front, like a screeching noise, but it is not from engine, it is from the chassis. It only does it in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear, i hear it when i go to give gas, do you know what this screeching could be from. This noise is on the right and i doubt it comes from the half axle? If anyone had the same problem please share thanks in advance 🙂

How are you sure it doesn't come from the engine?  Does the noise not change when you rev the engine?  Only changes with faster road speed?

First thought would be the auxiliary belt.  But if it's definitely not engine then would be checking for brake pad touching disc, brake disc guard touching disc, wheel bearing, driveshaft intermediate bearing, shock absorber, snapped spring catching wheel rim or an uneven worn tyre.

My tires are new, the discs are new, and I even lifted the car up on a lift. There were no signs of anything externally, everything was sound, but this noise, I don't know where it's coming from, it's not from the engine, because it's very clear that it's somewhere on the undercarriage... the mechanic told me let me check if I have a flywheel with a flywheel, but I think this model has a regular one, and as I said, it is only heard when I drive at a low speed, but when I drive at a higher speed, it is not heard
