Bonnet Stay

Featured Replies

On the mk7 where the bonnet stay attaches to the “slam panel” should there be some kind of grommet?

I was fitting a snapped bonnet stay clip and noticed that where the stay attaches to the car at the other end it just kind of rattles about??

Sounds normal to me.

Isn't the point at which the bonnet stay is fixed to the car not actually made of GRP ?

The panel looks to be moulded rather than a pressed metal panel. If you have a magnet it will be easy to check.

Good point I’ll have a check. It certainly sounded metal to metal mind you.

You’re absolutely correct my friend. It is GRP
