Had the glovebox out to do the cabin filter what a nightmare, will pay someone next time. Have lost the "U" shaped latch that pokes thru the bucket so the door catches. I'd rather not buy a whole new bucket and the scarppers round here will only sell a complete unit.

Cheers guys and gals, Happy New Year to all.

possibly ~06064 but thats from a lithuanian catalogue

Glovebox doesn't need to be removed for pollen filter on Mk2.  Don't believe everything you read in the Haynes!

Part number - 1537311

Ford GLOVE BOX CATCH - 1537311

Thank you sir, but dont look right

I agree, originals have more of a loop.  But that is the correct part number.  Either the image is wrong or maybe the old part was superseded with this one.

It's a big metal lump though, I don't really see how you can lose it?  Must be on the floor somewhere?

I took the bits in the house while i waited for the gumption and a dry day

That is the correct part number, but it looks like the design has been revised.

Still can't be far then.

Reckon it's worth another look myself.  Not like a small clip or screw that could easily get lost under furniture or go up the Hoover pipe.

Tom, I remember a few years back thinking I'll change the filter myself, watched some YouTubes, and decided far too complicated. How do you access it without removing the glove box? (Filter has still to be changed in my 4 years ownership LOL)

If I had a pound for everyone of those I've fitted!!! Been a while but I got it down to around a minute to change obviously with( small )  power tools .

3/8 impact gun , long extension , 13mm socket to rattle off the bracket nuts. Then a small battery operated screwdriver with adapter for short 7mm socket for the little screws.

Even that guy is making it more difficult than it is. You can manoeuvre the fuse box out the way.

That guy on that YouTube looks like he knows what he's doing, and he struggles! Yep, a job not for me but next time the old girl is getting some work on it, I'll ask 'my guy' to do it...

UPDATE - out and about so on the off chance called in my Evan Halshaw Ford dealership. Allegedly i have a C-max and before you read any further sit down. The part is called a striker and inc vat its £83.00. I can have a whole new box bucket for £45.00. I didnt bother asking about the floor mat twist locks. 😗
