DVLA website searches ??

Been chatting with an old mate of mine about his Jaguar which he sold not so long ago,
I showed him a similar car for sale and he hates it that he sold his 'love' so I decided to
go on the Gov website to see if there's owt about his car, strangely it has come back
with something I've never seen before! Obviously not bothered about contacting
DVLA but it's odd his car is not being shown on the website.

You searched for GK14TPO
If you are sure you entered the correct registration number and you need to make further enquiries please contact DVLA.

His Reg was GK14TPO but it's not showing, even leaving a gap as GK14 TPO and still nothing.

New owner has put a private registration on the car. The original registration is now held by DVLA in a suspense account and will get reissued back to the car when the private registration gets removed at some point in the future.

Possibly, but that comes up for other reasons, probably scrappage, accident write off, etc. I did a search through all my early cars sometime ago out of curiosity to see if any were still around and found that message came up for most of them. I doubt if my old '62 Mini, or '66 Cortina, for example are anything other than baked bean tins now!😀

Interestingly I found my '71 MG Midget was still showing, though untaxed.

Crikey! I thought you must be in MI5 or something until I spotted the logo in the corner of the pic!😀

If only I could locate my Jaguar F pace, I'd buy it back in an instance.

So here's the challenge find SF17 XMU 👍

My old Escort was written off in 96' but it still can be seen on the website.

Vehicle HFE260T is not Taxed - MOT No results returned.

Tax due: 1 January 1996

You know if there's any other photos of that very car, my old mate is a bit taken back seeing them pics.

I suspect there are quite a few cases where it's not correct. I doubt my old MG is actually still in existence - if so it's not been taxed/mot'd for over 15 years.

Only the two that I know of, but the original owner could well be over on the Jaguar equivalent of this forum 😉

My friend had that Jag' remapped with a german tuning company, they said the jag will most likely be the fastest one done for road use and it'll easily go over 200mph now with no issues, so he filled his petrol tank up and went on the german autobahn, as they said it was very rapid and indeed soon hit 200mph, but after a few runs the car broke down, turns out he'd ran out of petrol! towards the 200mph mark it was doing 5 miles per gallon 😅 🤣 😅 🙄
