Mk8 Vents Issue

Featured Replies

My mk8 has developed an issue - when I turn on the AC, there is nothing coming through the vents., but I can hear the air blowing under the dashboard. Where do I start?

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, see if it resets the HVAC

Drop driver's window

Turn on ignition but do NOT start engine

Disconnect battery NEGATIVE cable

leave for 10 minutes and reconnect

Will give that a try, thanks

If that don't work you have a motor gone down in the HVAC

I don’t know much about cars mechanically, but surely if I can hear the air the motor is working okay? Or is the HVAC controlling something other than the output of air?

The motor being referred to is the vent door motor (basically the motor that moves a door to control which vents get air flow)
