N/S Folding Mirror Stopped Working!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Used the car the other day and parked it up and locked as normal, came back after my shift unlocked the car got in it and noticed the N/S mirror was still folded in, so got out of the car locked and unlocked it again still not working, I did carefully more the mirror out so I could drive it home.

It does feel loose and a little play in and it and does try to move when you use either the key fob or the door switch, I did google it and did see a YT video from Ford how to reset it but that didn't work either!!

Ade.

Sounds like motor has gone, can you hear it trying to work?

Yeah I can hear it working.

Spray some WD40 in the joint and manually work the mirror back and forth, full distance, a couple of times

Cheers I'll give that a go.

If WD40 gets you up and running, worthwhile giving it a squirt of of proper oil (3 in 1, or similar). WD40 isn't that great as a long tern lubricant...
