does anyone have the info for converting manual HVAC to auto? I am upgrading my 2013 focus zetec  1.0 ecoboost  with 4" to 8" sync 3,changing the centre console to receive the swan neck handbrake  lever and fitting rear view camera .I am wondering what might be needed in the way of harness change.

The whole HVAC box is different.  There are about 30 different variations of it.  

Then the control panel and dash fascia.  Sun senor on dash.  Interior sensors left and right plus possibly one overhead as well.  Your current BCM may not be compatible with it.  The HVAC does have it's own loom, but I'm not sure whether your current loom with have spare plug(s) to accept it.

Overall, generally not worth the time & cost.  Replacing the Zetec with a Titanium would be cheaper and easier.

Thanks Tom for your reply .I had a feeling that it might be too involved to do the convert.  The fascia would be no problem as i am changing that with the sync 3 upgrade and the change of centre  console. I wonder if the loom you mentioned is available and would it be viable ?

The entire dashboard has to be removed to swap the HVAC box.  Very labour intensive.  Also means degassing & regassing the air con system, and draining and refilling the coolant.

The looms will be available from breakers yards.  Just have to find one that removes them carefully instead of cutting them out.

They may still be available from Ford parts department.  But they're often difficult to work out exactly which loom variation you need.
