Sorry I'm confused. My son has a Ford Focus St line "71" 2022 plate and I have just acquired a Ford Focus Titanium "20" 2020 plate. I've read about Mk 2, 3 and 4 But I don't have a clue where to find out the Mk s we have.

I saw a Ford video about the Mk 4 having a larger touch screen. Neither I nor my son have the large screen ; both are smaller . So surely that means neither of us have the Mk 4. but the Mk 3 instead?

Kindly advise?

It is a MK4, the MK3 ran till 2015/late 2014 and the MK3.5 ran till 2018

The larger screen came in with the facelift* (aka Mk 4.5) during 2022, so your 20 plate certainly wouldn't have it and it sounds as if your son just missed out on it. So you both have a Mk 4, as above.

That's ever so good of you to advise. May I be cheeky and ask a couple more questions that are related, please?

1. I got an Owners manual and my son didn't get one. I asked the dealership and they advised he got the Ford App. Is there a way he can somehow get a manual from anywhere please?

2. I am surprised about the next sub post; I could have sworn that I posted about us both getting(adding at our own cost) a reversing camera function added onto the screen but I can't find my post anywhere. Has anyone added a Ford camera or non Ford one to their screen? If anyone has, please could they kindly advise. If anyone added a non Ford one could they kindly recommend?

The manual would be available electronically only as far as I'm aware, so the app or off Ford's website.

 

I will be retrofiting a camera to my focus MK3.5 tomorrow so I'll tell you how it goes.

In addition to the FOC copy online, apparently you can get a hard copy by following the link from the Ford website below (at a price!).

Thanks so much. I will act on both suggestions. I can only do the very basics and wouldn't be able to tackle such a job i.e  fit a camera. I would be relying heavily on getting it fitted

You are too kind. Thanks. I know there was confusion between dealers . One said you could get a Ford camera added onto the screen for £400/ £500 ; another said  you can't unless the function was added on to the screen at manufacture. The search goes on. (I tried Ford accessories and they couldn't help. they said it would have to be a non Ford camera)

Lol. I had a look at the price when I got my current car, having had a hard copy handbook with the previous one. It's not that bad compared to some - a friend of mine asked about a hard copy for his car and was quoted £300 iirc!

The online version is not too bad, provided you know what you're looking for, but many of us like to just  "browse" when we first get a car, and it's less good for that.

I need to pop out to sort out my son's service. His app says it's urgent. He's at work and I am happy to help , in that regard. I shall look more closely when I return. Nevertheless Thanks a lot. Perhaps I should consider looking on Amazon or E bay as well to see what I can find out

I was intrigued so I watched the You Tube video. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it/that. I have no expertise or knowledge whatsoever. You've very kindly given me info and it's up to me if I feel comfortable doing that. I thank you, sincerely.
