Sync 3 touchscreen not working

I have a Ford Focus 2017.

The infotainment system is a Sync 3.

I had recently taken the car to the garage and the engine had been rebuilt due to a mechanical failure. When I got the car back, I found this watermark or condensation behind the screen (see photo). I have since given this time to dry which it has now gone but I think the damage is done, as you may think.

The touchscreen has stopped responding to all touch commands. I am not able to use the system via touch. I am still able to use the system via the console buttons below the screen and steering wheel functions still work. I would guess it's just the touch screen at this point which is the issue and hopefully there maybe someone out there to help. 

 

Are there any known troubleshooting methods I can try to fix this issue?

Is the screen itself able to be replaced without the APIM? 

 

Currently being quoted £300 for the screen but not sure if this is with the APIM or not. I haven't got round to stripping the dash to answer this yet but looks likely.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

    Usually the screen has the apim attached to the rear. This looks like the LCD layer of the screen has failed.
