I fitted identical units to a 2009 Galaxy I used wiring from the existing Headlight connectors, I also installed a relay to ensure the DRL's extinguish when the Dipped beam is turned on, Everything works well but when the dipped Beam is on the indicators Hyperflash?? I haven't really looked into it but think that the earth needs to be reconfigured (DRL uses indicator live as earth??) as I reckon the earth is fed & controlled by the BCM? I have no code or warning issues but assume if I earthed to the Chassis that the there would be a CanBus error (BCM) They are very effective & I am glad that I fitted them, I also fitted rear DRL's (and indicator led) if it's of interest to you?

I took some photos & videos but never edited them correctly 😕 I've included them here for you, Hopefully they will be of help (Sorry if they're all jumbled up!)

I can't upload the Video's here, So I have uploaded them to my "Youtube" Channel: www.youtube.com/@grisleiyminibus

Thank you for a in-depth answer but the ones that I have bought are slightly different all I need to do is find a switched live to get them working

They are fundamentally the same (identical wiring) I modified the wiring to suit & took a switched live from the original connector (multi meter will show which 1 of the unused wires is the switched ignition live) I can have a look shortly to tell you which one if you want me to?

If you could please and doing this mod will it affect MOT?

I've just tried to take a photo but the Battery has gone flat 🥴 I haven't used the car for a couple of months!

So I'll have to charge the Battery. Regarding the MOT, it's my understanding that DRL upgrades are encouraged but ref the integrated Indicators (I'm not sure) I have put the additional connector on mine for  2 reasons (if I unplug the connector, I can remove the DRL unit & replace with the original indicator Bulb) allowing the original Headlight indicator function

reason 1: if the unit fails

reason 2: if the MOT tester wasn't happy with the Hyper flashing Indicator

(I asked the tester last MOT & he said that he would be happy with it providing the Hyper flash didn't exceed the 60-120 per minute)

The connection (Bayonet fitted to your DRL) isn't compatible with the existing Headlight connector

I will post the Ignition switched live photo later once I have charged the Battery 👍

Incidentally, I forgot to mention that I believe the DRL needs to either dim or extinguish completely when the Dipped Beam is activated for the MOT? hence the additional relay.

There are kits available (That I have used previously) that either switch or dim the DRL's without the need for any additional relays?

The DRL's are worth doing but are a little long winded if done properly
