2010 Fiesta making unusual noise on startup

Featured Replies

Hi there, I’m looking for some help with my fiesta, recently it’s started making an unusual noise that does not sound good for the first two minutes of running. The other weird thing is it’s only after leaving it overnight, if I drive in the morning then drive in the evening it doesn’t make the noise after starting up in the evening. Don’t suppose anyone knows what the noise is or has experienced anything similar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What engine ?

  • Author

1.25ltr engine

It sounds like an engine that has low oil pressure.

When was the oil and filter last changed ? Is the oil the correct specification?

It had an interim service in November.

Checked the oil level a week ago or so, and was well above the minimum

Difficult to hear on the video but if it's not oil pressure related, I'd suspect a loose aux pulley bearing instead, air con compressor would be my first thought.

Open the bonnet and see if the aux belts run straight or if there's any wobble on them when it's making the noise.

Thanks guys! I’ll take a look in the morning and see what I can see on the aux belt
