Can't always turn engine off after start/stop battery change

Featured Replies

Just had a stop/start battery replaced and now, when i start the engine, it won't turn off, unless multiple attempts are made !!! Sometimes the cockpit display panel goes into "off mode", but the engine continues to idle.?

A similar battery change with an identical battery was made 6 month ago with no issue and no kind of Engine Management System reprogramming was needed.

Any ideas, please?

Disconnect the battery negative lead (yes again), and leave it off for 10 to 20 minutes. Then reconnect it and wait 5 minutes before turning the ignition on. The system will have rebooted and should then be OK

Did your remember to reset the BMS after you fitted the new battery ?

Your car's issue could be due to the loss of 'idle memory'. Try leaving your car on and idle for 10-15 minutes.
