Engine swap

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if a mk6 ford fiesta zetec s engine will go in a mk7 ford fiesta zetec s and if they do is then any difference between the both.

Mk6 wasn't VCT so not really compatible with a MK7

As above for the petrol.  Mk6 was 100bhp.  Mk7 120bhp Ti-VCT.

For diesel Mk6 was 90bhp 16 valve and Mk7 95bhp 8v.

So different all round.

2008-2010 Mk7 1.6 diesel was the 16 valve 90 PS too.

Yes, I recall contemporary road test reviews mentioning the engine in the Mk 7 was "all new", e.g. Autocar said:

"Power comes from an all new, 118bhp 1.6-litre motor, driving the front wheels through a five speed gearbox."

True.  The OP's profile does say 2011 though.

I presumed petrol, sorry

Me too, but the 1.6tdci was popular back then, so perhaps the OP could clarify what he has?

The possibility of fitting a MK6 Ford Fiesta S engine into a Mk7 Ford Fiesta Zetec S exists, but certain aspects such as engine mount positions, transmission compatibility, and wiring harness need to be checked as these vary from model to model.
