Focus mk4 1.6 182 petrol st line x lambda sensor

Featured Replies

Hi guys! First post hope someone can help! I recently had a new block put in ( wrong oil put in my car on service) about a week after my EML came on with a P0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold tank 1) since then I took it to the garage. Firstly he cleaned the lambda sensor. Everything was good for a few days. It then came back on. So we replaced it with a new one. Had MOT at the same time and all good. However it has just come back on today. Could there be something that was done wrong when Ford re installed the engine. Or could it be something else. Thanks guys

What happened to the old engine?  If oil went through the cat, that will have damaged it.

(PS Mk4 will be 1.5, not 1.6)

All I was told was the wrong grade of oil. Not much more than that unfortunately.
