Electrical power loss

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have 2012 2.0tdci, manual. 110k.

we have had a couple of instances of complete electrical power loss.

First instance, wife started the car, there was a short blast from the horn followed by power shut off and unable to restart. Battery disconnected and reconnected the car started fine, replaced the battery as a precaution as I had no history of how old it was etc. Drove ok for a number of weeks.

second, got stuck in a car par, same issue however no horn sounded.

Third instance, wife had the car running to defrost, as she backed off the drive, the same problem, car dead and the Horn continually sounding! Disconnected and reconnected the car was fine.

I have had the battery out and checked all terminals. Does this sound like an immobiliser fault?

thanks in advance
