Small Animal Protection

Featured Replies

I appreciate it maybe a little hard to see from the photo of the Passenger side (below) but Under the Bonnet (2023 Ford Focus ST) I can see on the Drivers’ side there is a black bag on top / back of the engine compartment by the bulkhead between that and the Front Wing, which is soft and seems taped to inner wing, which I believe is to stop Small Animals from hiding in there (during the Winter, maybe ??)), yet it is not there on the passenger side at the same location (highlighted in the Photo) which seems bizarre

Could anyone else with a MK 4 Ford Focus ST confirm whether they have them on both sides or just one side please ..............

It's just NVH material.

I have it on both sides and extra plastic gutters to guide the water, but these things were costed out on later cars.

NVH material ??

Other members have had small animals use this stuff for nesting material.  If anything it's attracting them rather than deterring them.

On my '21 plate, I had the 'bin bag' both sides, but didn't have the gutters like Alex's does.  As the alarm siren is now exposed on yours, I think it probably should have had the bin bag on that side as well.  Hopefully other members with facelift models can confirm.

Thanks, hopefully I will get some replies before I look daft when going back to Ford's - I should have said my 2023 model is a MK 4.5 (so I believe), cheers

👍

I have it on both sides of my 2019 car as well as the gutter arrangement. I'm surprised you cant see the Alarm Sounder that Tom mentioned on the passenger side, maybe Ford have moved it.

Edit - Just had a look at your photo and Ford have changed the colour or your one. Here is a photo of mine that I posted a while ago. It is under the Gutter and Sound Deadening.
