Transmission problem!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, recently my engine management light has come up. Got a diagnostic check and below codes appear:

P0325:00-EB - KNOCK SENSOR

P0C2A:00-6C - Transmission fluid pump

P0C2C:002F -

This is a 2016 Ford focus ecoboost 1.0 automatic (uk)

Mileage- 64,000

If someone can guide or help me what these codes mean and what works need to be done will be much appreciated

Hi,

Must admit I haven't seen those fault codes before, but we don't have many Mk3 1.0 auto's on here in fairness.

The electronic transmission pump is bolted to the outside of the transmission and is used to keep pumping fluid around the gearbox when the engine stops due to the stop/start system.

It may be that the pump is faulty and needs replacement.  Or it may be a wiring fault.

The knock sensor fault is a more difficult one to diagnose.  It may have picked up the extra vibrations from the gearbox not working smoothly.  Or it may be a faulty sensor.  Or faulty wiring.  Or...it may be an issue with the balance shaft in the sump - the part that Ford are now recalling 1.0 auto's for in the USA.  That really needs further diagnosis asap.  As a very basic test, you can check the colour of the engine oil.  If it's dark black, it's probably full of wetbelt particles.

Thank you for the info !

Hi John and welcome to the forum.

I notice you used an Autel diagnostic tool. Good as they may be but they Are generic. I and all of us here recommend Forscan. It's Ford specific and 2nd only to what Ford themselves use.

How are the codes affecting how the car drives?

Forscan is available from the Forscan website and its Free. You'll need to buy an OBD reader lead. Peruse the forum and you'll find links provided by Unofix where to get Forscan and a lead.

Hi, the drive is fine just shakes a little when idle. Other than that the gearbox is fine and never had a problem

That's ok. Like I said. Get yourself Forscan and use that to diagnose your car. If any codes come up delete them. Drive the car for a day or two to see if the check engine symbol comes up. If it does use Forscan to check what codes come up. Each code is explained very well and go from there.
