Mk2 2010 EcoNetic (Engine Malfunction)

Featured Replies

Hi was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, was driving my car the other day when an engine malfunction light came on, it was solid and stayed on the center of the dash till i turned off the car, when turning it back on the dash made a chime and the message went away, i was high in the revs when it came on, but was thinking could it have something to do with the cold weather recently or is it something more

You would need to read the Ford specific fault codes to determine the fault.

Forscan is a useful DIY option instead of going to a Ford dealer.

Definitely get Forscan and read the codes. If you get a bunch of "U" codes that would indicate Canbus communication errors which would likely point to the well-known instrument cluster cracked solder joint problem (unless yours has already been resoldered).

Yeah got it looked at, turns out its a P2290-20 ICP pressure too low

Have it booked in for a service to replace fuel filter and hope its just that and not the alternative of something more costly,
