Steering wheel BVC controls not working (B10BD:13-0F)

Featured Replies

For less than a day I had an aftermarket Android unit installed and setup with the CanBus box it came with, decided to return it for a number of reasons and install the original BVC unit back in but now the steering wheel BVC controls don't work (no volume control, seek or VC.) I can interact with the radio (to change BT settings as usual) using the left dpad buttons and the right works with the instrument cluster. All indicators and wipers etc work. I removed fuse 72 and it's not blown. I scanned DTCs with Forscan and the FCDIM is coming back with B10BD:13-0F - Multifunctional Switch (:13 being Circuit Open.) as the other inputs work (indicators etc) I assume it's related to the BVC controls? I also reset to the car to Asbuilt with no luck.

Is this a new clock spring or new buttons (AM5T14K147DB)?

Edit: Forgot to say. I put the aftermarket radio back in with the CanBus and the steering wheel controls worked as they should just to test. Just doesn't want to work with the original BVC radio/display. I've inspected the male and female connectors for all the cables and original units and there doesn't seem to be any missing pins, or anything broken.

Forgot some details

Just check you've reconnected everything properly, it should just all work again, as before

Did you try it after resetting the dtcs?

Yeah, still nothing. It lights up and that's it. No voice commands and no controls. The only DTC is:

Code: B10BD - Multifunctional Switch

Additional Fault Symptom (:13):
 - Circuit Open

Status (-0F):
 - DTC Present at Time of Request
 - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Front Control/Display Interface Module

Make sure none of the wires have been pushed out of the connector, not all the wires are used with aftermarket stuff but are used with the oe radio

Quick update:

I’ve checked the OEM radio connectors and they’re fine. Just getting this B10BD:13-0F so next is to try a new FCDIM and see if that works, I put the aftermarket radio back in one last time to see if it would work still and the controls and working with that, so I’m guessing I’ve mangled something with the FCDIM.
