Replace tow electronics box

Sinds a couple of months by towing lights (I hope this is what you call them) are not working properly anymore. My garagist told me that the control box needs to be replaced, something I could do myself but I'm struggling to find out how to get to that box. It is hidden behind the rear boot panel on the driverside (lefthand drive) on the front of the wheel arche which makes it impossble to reach from th ehatch in the panel 😵‍💫. On the picture that would be just behind the rear seats (near the damage on the panel). Does anybody have experience with removing this side panel and/or reaching the electronics box that is hidden there? The car involved is a Galaxy 2015 model.

I don't have direct experience of these but car interiors are all fitted in roughly the same way.

It will just be screws and spring clips holding that panel on.  But it looks like you'll have to remove a few other panels first.  Plus removing the section of door and tailgate seals that cover each end.

Mine is behind the panel under the Cigar adapter as that is where the Bus cable ends up.

That is what expected too but unfortunatly it isn't. My garagists followed the cable with a camera and is it behind the wheel arche.
