What to look for on 2016 1.5T Ecoboost Red Edition.

Featured Replies

Still got the old 2009 2.0 titanium, and having gone off the 1.6 because of overheating problems, we are now looking at the the newer 2016 1.5T Red Edition Focus. Seems to fit our needs on paper, but are there any problems with the 1.5 engine? The model my wife is looking at is the 182bhp model.

Thanks for the quick reply. Jeez, you'd have thought Ford might have learned from their previous mistakes, but it appears not. Looks like it's back to the drawing board on our search for a replacement car. Cheers for the heads up!

Fwiw there seem to have been a lot less problems reported with the 1.5 3 cylinder as fitted to the Mk 4 Focus from late 2018 if your budget would stretch that far. Otherwise I'm sure there'll be plenty of other recommendations before long!
