Check engine reset

Featured Replies

Good day.

Check engine turned on today.

Tested many times pushing down accelerator and brake pedal. Reset progress and reset complete message appears, but then again check engine light for service appears.

There is a fault. It’s not telling you it wants an oil change but that something is wrong.

You need to get the codes read.

No error codes, also checked in workshop.

The icon on bottom is orange colour looking as a book.

What are you reading the codes with? Generic OBD readers often miss some Ford DTCs. The best thing is Forscan or something designed to read all Ford specific DTCs on both buses. If there is a message to service the engine now (it means a fault) it should have logged a code.

Just checked again. Oil is same level or a bit beneath minimum. Added some oil. Also disconnected the battery in case the message was stuck.

I don’t think you are understanding:

Engine Service Now = Engine Fault

This is nothing to do with changing or topping up the oil. Your engine is telling you it has a problem that needs investigating. There should be a fault logged. But you’ll need better than a generic reader.

Added oil, reached maximum. Connected battery, cel - message remains.

Tomorrow will go to workshop again.

I assume this has got to be a language problem.

As said above:

ENGINE "Service Now" = Engine is broken, Engine is knackered, Engine is Kaput !!!

It needs to be taken to a garage and repaired.

I know, i understand.

But nothing about performance seems to be wrong. Of course it will be checked to the garage tomorrow.

If you use a laptop with FORScan and a vLinker FS cable you will be able to read the Ford specific DTC's

Thank you, i know. But i dont have forscan.

Is it free to download for laptop?

Thank you unofix.

Thank you all.

The cause was clutch sensor's switch. It was disconnected.
