Engine Management lights on after raining (Sometimes)

Featured Replies

After changing the EGR valve (due to engine management error), I have had several errors, eventually I remade all the earthing points & replaced 2 corroded one,  and cleaned metal and coated with vasaline, I still get the occasional engine management - shows engine management failure -> limp mode. Various errors in Forscan -

Pc locked up prior to finishe!

It showed Engine Management, Steering fault and then showed Limp mode, but car drove ok. Seems now no to like the rain.

Is there any modules behind the engine on the bulkhead? wondered if that was where the main EMU is located, dont want to spray WD40 unless it is fine (I used to do that with an old mini in student days.

I just looked at the DTC and all clear now - weird

2 common faults with the mk2/2.5 focus

leaking windscreen wetting the BCM/Fusebox behind the glovebox , probably soaking the passenger footwell carpet at the same time.

instrument cluster solder joints failing, whacking the dash above the cluster can show up the conditions sometimes.

well documented on the forums

Hi RL123

I will try that, it is on my trusty Focus Mk2 2.0 Auto and noticed that side gets wet & one of my next tasks is clearing the water in the n/s headlamp, so will check - a good area to start on

I’ve seen it mentioned to disconnect the battery before unplugging the connections to the BCM/Fusebox if you do
