White marks on body

Featured Replies

Good evening all !

On my brother's Focus, I have noticed lot of these white marks. What has caused these and what is the solution?

looks like fuel has stained it

Have you tried to rub them off with "T-cut" ?

It's on other places towards the front as well, where the hose would not have stretched to.

No, but I tried Meguiar's UC and it did nothing 😞

It looks like the clear coat has come off.

Bodyshop here we come!

I've seen marks like that before but mainly hand and fingerprints. Esp in the summer

Seems to get into the laquer. Suncream!!!

Plenty of vehicles have ended up at the body shop for a good mopping.

iantt: this was my first thought too. I have read histories about sunscreen managing to source its way through the clear coat making it slip from the underside.

This must have been some outsiders. My brother has never used sunscreen and got in the car.

A bodyshop guy near me said he would polish it for £150 and it may still come back ??

I found this Youtube video. The guy says the fix is a repaint! :
