I have a 2013 1.0L ecoboost focus on start up the revs bounce up and down for the first 5 minutes or so ,they then settle down but it seems to have a slight misfire. I've had it on engine diagnostics and no faults are showing up but if the mass air flow sensor is disconnected it seems to run ok tried a new sensor but problem still occurs. Garage seems to think it's something internal in the engine. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what it could be thanks

    Have you tried using FORScan and a vLinker FS cable to check for Ford specific DTC's ?

    The usual problem is that independent garages will use Generic code readers. Even the expensive ones like 'Snap-On' will mostly not read all of the Ford specific DTC's.

    The codes need to be read with either a Ford dealers equipment or you can use a windows laptop and the software FORScan, that's pretty much the only two options available to ensure that both the HS and MS canbus is read, and that the Ford specific codes are checked.
