Left Side front lights wont work at all

Featured Replies

Hi All,

First time posting here. The left side of the front head lights have just decided to stop working.

It started off that it had dimmed but now its completely gone alongside the indicator now too. Changed bulb a few times , didnt work , was told it could be a 'bad earth' got someone to check that too with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. First time ford owner. (Ford Focus 1.6 TDI 09)

Not sure what 'left side' of headlight means, but I'll assume it's the dipped headlamp bulb, and now your indicator. Sounds as if there could be some minor corrosion to the actual headlight connector. Seek out a YouTube on how to remove the headlight, it's very simple only held on by one screw and 2 x press down clips. Then you'll see it is connected by one electrical connector plug.

Remove this (It's a pull friction fit held on by a little tab), and just have a visual look to see if you can see any corrosion, if there is, clean it up and maybe squirt a bit of WD40 on it. That may help...

I take it you have tested the bulbs and checked the fuses?
