Hi,

I have a Ford focus (2019) and seem to be having a reoccurring issue where when in neutral with my handbrake on my start stop changes to an Amber flashing light. It usually works straight away and is the green logo, then after a minute will change to flashing Amber and the message ‘Auto start stop press a pedal to start engine’ appears. I had this previously on the odd occasion but now it seems to be coming up more frequently over the last few days. I’ve checked the manual and only states it’s an action that needs completing but nothing else. 
 

It’s also not the first time I’ve seen it, my previous car (Fiesta) also had this message on the odd occasion but never got round to checking it out. Is it a user error on my part (considering it’s two separate vehicles) or is it a coincidence and something to look into further?

Your car battery State Of Charge is low. It is warning you to start the engine now as the battery charge is falling while the engine is off. Normally of cause the system would just restart the engine itself but when certain conditions are not met then it can't do that automatically.

Is the car still on it's original battery ? They only last 4 year these days before needing to be replaced.
