Ambient temperature sensor issue

Featured Replies

I have an issue with the Ambient temperature sensor on my Focus (2017. Estate). The sensor shows ambient temperature higher around 10C than it is outside. So, it is not like it does not work, but it just has a delta temperature of 10C higher than it should. Also, as I have noticed, when I just start the car, the ambient temperature reading is in the ballpark of the real values outside. And then, in the next couple of minutes, it climbs around 9 - 10C (of course the real ambient temperature did not change).

Now, I recently updated my Sync 3.4 to the newer version, and the issue appeared after that in two to three weeks. I can not be sure that the update caused it, but it is possible, especially how the ambient sensor reading behaves.

What I wanted to ask, before eventually I change the sensor (which, as I understand includes dismantling and changing half of the side mirror) is there an option  to reset or calibrate the ambiet sesnor? Also, on what exactly, if any the ambient sensor has an effect?

Probably need new sensor (in passenger door mirror head)

No, is the answer,

Sounds like the sensor is defective or you have a high resistance connector somewhere causing a false reading
