FOCUS MK4 2019 parts

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me out finding the part I needed and fixing this "minor" issue. Today I serviced my car for the 1st time (Focus MK4 tournier 2019 1.5 tdci 120bhp). I'd say between my lack of manuality and the horrendous quality of the plastic, I am not so upset at the damages done. The first, just to let you know, was the left wing of the cover for the pollen filter. Whilst the right one clicked away just fine, the left just snapped on my hand. Anyway, the cover is held in place by two screws as well, so no big deal.

The deal: a bit of a pain to remove the air filter unit. The top part and the tube are easy to pull away. The bottom part instead as been a nightmare. Basically, the base is held in place by three pins, plus another tube connected to the front part of the vehicle where the air intake panel sits. The pins were fine, but the connection posed problematic. I don't know what the parts are called, therefore is anyone can help me to figure it out, I would appreciate it a lot. I'll post a picture of the part below. The one on the right, I still have it and will post a pic of it as well. However, I lost the bottom part in the bonnet somewhere, so it's gone. The one on the left, I could not remove it at all. The top part is almost like semi-melted. The cap simply bent but did not move. I could have tried pushing the whole piece with the washer that sits underneath, but I got nervous and I managed to move the whole air intake panel out of the way, and I got to the oil filter anyway. How bad is to be left with one side w/o the button at the moment? I mean it does have few mm of play, but the rest is in place so it should not be going anywhere. The left pin does move a bit if I pull the whole piece up, however, being all plastic, I am scared of pulling it out completely. However, if I find the right piece, I can try to pull that away even if it breaks, cause it's partially messed up anyway and replace with a new one.

Thanks

Up...no luck with vehicle clips

Looks like a trip to the Ford dealers parts counter. They can't cost much even at Ford prices 😉
