Clicking noise when pressing foot brake mk4 auto

Featured Replies

Got this clicking noise on video , Has anyone got the same ? Only happens with engine on and in park.  Minor detail I know.

You’ll need your volume turned up!

I think that's the Park lock solenoid.  Prevents anyone turning the dial out of Park without a foot on the brake.

Good call Thomas 👍 probably had that for 5 years without noticing!

At the dealership, they’re saying the clicking noise is normal. Getting the complimentary wash and hoover so not a completely wasted morning!

That was a wasted journey, people told you what it was.

Tom was right. Scottman knew what it was but suggested getting the dealer to get the part in  , brake lock or whatever it is. So his fault ! lol

The clicking sound is louder than it was, I’d not noticed it before the other week.

They did the usual health check video , seems it needs a track rod end.
