    Reprogramming the Unlocking Function
     
    Press and hold the unlock and lock buttons on the remote control simultaneously for at least four seconds with the ignition off. The direction indicators flash twice to confirm the change.
     
    To return to the original unlocking function, repeat the process.

    cheers guys, the fob resolution worked, boot still opening when pressing the open door button , ah well another quick fix ruled out

    It just needs the boot handle replaced. Under £22 on eBay and 15 minutes to fit.

    Disconnect the battery and remove the BCM (Fusebox under glovebox) inspect the terminal pins and the visible board for water damage, it will show as green fur.

    If this is present then the BCM is going down

    right , apologies for all the questions, but I've it booked into a local ford dealer to have it plugged into their machine  100 quid straight away 😕

     

    what am I looking at cost wise if it is the BCM

     

    and is there any possible way it's something else 

     

    keeping in mind my mechanical knowledge is very limited

    If it is the BCM, You're better off having yours repaired or buying a good used one.

    The Mk3 BCM alone costs over £800 from Ford.
