Cruise control cancelling

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 20 plate Focus Estate Titanium and am wanting to know if pressing the clutch should cancel the cruise control or just pressing the brake pedal. Also the stop/start has never activated. Could this be a problem with a clutch pedal switch? Thanks in advance.

if depends if you have active cruise (as in manages the gap to car in front) then it re-engages after changing gear

if std set speed only cruise, then it should cancel (or they always did in the old days)

in either type if yours revs madly on changing gear, then a switch is faulty

stop start not functioning is the holy grail of car maintenance - you want it dead / disabled, it was only fitted to damage the car to increase car sales

From what I've read, pressing the clutch does not cancel CC any more, it did on my 2019 Diesel though.

S/S not working is due to low battery voltage the battery monitoring system (BMS) does not let the battery charge above 85% S/S stops working at 80%

You can change the BMS settings to 95% using FORScan, then S/S will work all the time

As above, this feature was dropped from the Mk4 Focus in 2020.  The clutch no longer cancels cruise, regardless of standard or adaptive.  You can either press the brake or press the cancel button on the steering wheel.
