Active Grill Shutters. P059F code

Featured Replies

HI. I have a Focus ST mk4. I recently mapped the control unit. From that moment on the car does not have a smooth delivery and has an irregular idle. It has the code P059F (active grille shutters). The grilles open and close continuously as if the system had lost connection. The car is at the mechanic's who told me that the AGS actuator is OK, the electrical line is OK, the LIN BUS line is OK. Cannot get Active Grille Shutters to work properly. Could it be some other issue affecting the AGS? I remember that during the mapping phase an intercooler hose had blown due to too much supercharging pressure. Some advice? Thank you all

Mapped the control unit?? Do you mean you have remapped the ECU - if so is it a generic map or one you have made up yourself.

If it does not have a smooth delivery or idle - it sounds like a rubbish map or "technician" error.

With no disrespect do you know 100% what you are doing?

An intercooler hose blew off due to too much supercharging - really!

What equipment are you using

If the AGS was originally working correctly it certainly suggests you have done something wrong

Hi Trevor. It was an ECU map created by a Tuner. After the malfunction I had, I deleted the mapping and brought the machine back with the stock file but the problem persists. Yes, like I said, an intercooler hose came loose. Then I reconnected it.
