2004 Mk1 TDCI Alternator mounting bracket

Featured Replies

I am looking for anyone who can help me keep my car from the junkyard.

I have spent a good amount of time and money getting my Mk1 Focus roadworthy and MOT ready and it seems unfair that it could end up there over a simple aluminium bracket.

It recently passed the MOT with an impressed look from the tester and a week later the alternator stops working.

Took it to a mechanic who said the Freewheel pulley (the rubber piece) has broken and needs changing, replaced and less than 2 miles later gone again smoke and battery light back on.

A deeper look and it seems the alternator mounting bracket has become damaged and causing a misalignment.

I have checked all my local breakers and only been able to find the wrong alternator mount so I am here asking if anyone knows where I can source one or get one reproduced.

Part number is 1S4Q10239AC
