C-max electric/fuse problem won't start

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can anyone help please? Had warning on dash saying back passenger door was open when it wasn't, hubby took a big black fuse out the fuse box under the dashboard, put it back now car won't start, immobiliser warning and service warning flashing on dashboard, car won't turn over.

Checked the battery, took wire of battery for 10 mins in the hope It would restart it, nope! Please help 🙏

There aren't any "big black fuses" in the fuse box, so heaven knows what he pulled out but it wasn't a fuse.

Could it have been a relay ? or even one of the connectors ?

Are you 100% sure it has been put back properly and that it is in the correct place ?

What made him choose the so called big black fuse, I assume he didn't just pick it at random. Perhaps post a photo of the fusebox and indicate what the item was that he removed.

My guess would be that he has removed relay "R1" and put it back in the relay "R2" space which is not used and is normally empty.

I will get him to get a photo, thank you for trying to help, I thought it could possibly have been a relay too after doing a bit of research

Open bonnet

Turn ignition on, do not start engine

Lower driver's window

Disconnect battery negative cable and leave disconnected for 10 minutes

Reconnect

See if that solves it

If not, get the codes read with FORScan, I suspect possible Cluster or GEM fault
