Focus Mk2 Heater Core Leaking Help

Featured Replies

Hi There,

I have a Focus Mk2 1.6i and have a leaky heater matrix/core, I have noticed some people say the whole dash needs to come out or just the centre console & bolts either side of the heater box. I am wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for removing the heater core without having to remove the dash?

Thanks

Josh

Bad news I'm afraid !!

The whole of the dashboard has to be removed to get the heater matrix out. Personally on a 2005 car I'd be very tempted to try something like Radweld Plus £9.50

Thanks for getting back, aw no thats not what I wanted to hear. I did a bit of research and did see some people saying they removed the centre console, bolts holding in the heater box and a few other bits and pieces but maybe different on some years. I would of loved to try that weld stuff but its quite a bad leak unfortunely

It's surprisingly good even on leaks that you wouldn't expect it to seal. It sometimes takes a few days before it fully seals, and for less than £10 I'd certainly give it a try before pulling the dashboard out.
