Lol, the road in and out of our village has got so bad now you'd wreck your car if you tried driving as fast as 20!

 

Regarding Street Lights and 30mph limits unless the repeater signs say differently, there are some in town 40mph duelled roads where I live with plenty of repeater signs but most people other than locals seem not to see them because I usually have to undertake at least one car in the off time Bus Lane because someone in front of me is doing exactly 30mph. 

Even more frustrating when the Bus Lanes are in operation because I can't undertake them.

Hands up, I broke the law, and need to be punished. However, I do think the punishment is out of scale with the crime.

Yes, fine me, but putting '3 points' on my license on an otherwise blemish free driving record is I feel heavy handed. If it was done outside a school/hospital/old peoples home, or otherwise vulnerable area, I would agree with.

But maybe you should have 2 or 3 speeding tickets in a 12 month period before climbing the ladder of license points. For that few seconds indiscretion, I will be financially punished now for 3 years as insurance companies rub their hands together with glee as a legitimate reason for extracting more funds on every renewal. 

No one likes being punished, but it should really fit the crime, and of course, I'm now just resentful. As a lifelong law abiding citizen, it just leaves a very unjust bitter taste in my mouth... 😂
