Stereo help please - I'm pulling my hair out!

Featured Replies

I have a 2019 custom which had the old 4" screen with the 6 buttons.
I am trying to upgrade to sync 2.5 (I don't need Nav as my phone has it and I don't want the hassle of fitting the APIM unit).

I have bought a head unit, model number LK2T-18D804-HH and the corresponding screen, but when I connect it, although the buttons light up, nothing else works.
It will not power on and I can get no further.

Can ANYONE please help me with this?
What am I doing wrong?

The screen is the APIM, I believe

It may all need configuring

Did the head unit (ACM) come from the same car as the screen?

As far as I am aware, yes.  On doing a little more research, it does appear to be a sync 2.5 AHU, as it has 2 square plugs rather than the long latch connector found on the Sync 3.

So, to follow up, it would appear that a dirty connection on the screen cables was the fault.

I sprayed some contact cleaner in the plugs and it's now working perfectly.

Thanks for your reply DaveT70.
