Hi all I have a 2010 Galaxy 2.0 TDCI, I’m getting the Engine malfunction light and immobiliser, it won’t let me put my fordscan on this as it states the engine needs to be on. Is there any way to override this. Really need help.

thanks

Could it be the cluster unit?

FORScan only needs the ignition on, it doesn't need the engine running.

For some reason it won’t run a diagnostic unless the engine is on it is saying? It can run if I load from a previous time I put it on, if that makes sense.

Please post photo of the exact message that FORScan is showing.

Hi all so after numerous people looking at my car I finally found the fault, my friend came around with all his diagnostic kit as the car wasn’t communicating with the PCM. He stripped back the wiring loom to the PCM up to the car and found the main power cable (Red&Yellow) had corroded and snapped. So this was why I couldn’t turn the car over.
just thought I would update incase anyone ever gets the same fault. I will include links and pictures that helped.

This link really helped.

the last wire he checks (red&yellow) I think is the main power cable to the PCM
