sudden flat battery

Featured Replies

i have a 2011 1.6 ford focus titanium with keyless ignition with a battery which is only 5 months old, at no particular interval the battery is completely discharged when going to start the car, the battery is completely discharged and with the keyfob key to gain entry, lift the bonnet and jumpstart the engine , the charge rate is good at 14.6 volts and all is well until it happens again, sometimes within quite a few days ,other times within 1 or 2 days, the battery tests out at 12.6 volts 95%  charged . but the next morning the battery is discharged, so i have to go all over again, this makes the car unreliable, has anyone else in the ford focus world had this problem ? and what is causing it ?

Anyone on the internet will only be guessing at the cause, could be one of 100s of different reasons. It would be wise for you to bring car into a competent local spark, and let them diagnose properly what is causing the drain on your battery...

One of the modules not shutting down properly.  Bluetooth module is a regular culprit, so you can pull the fuse for that.  If the problem persists then it's something else, potentially the audio unit.
