Engine Service Light Wont Go Out

I have a 2018 Transet Connect and the service engine light will not go out.

Its been with Ford in Basingstoke for 3 weeks and they thought it was the PCM so they fitted a new one (£1,400) and the fault still exists. The van runs 100% fine which is frustrating. They said it wont pass the MOT with the light on.

Any ideas?

Yes !!

Take it to a FORD dealer with a good diagnostics technician. There is little point in leaving it at a dealership that has been unable to successfully fault find. Remember you're the one who's paying the bill

Yes, it needs to go back in until the light isn't on.

If the PCM wasn't the fault they need to put the original back on, refund your money and stop miss-diagnosing and do the job properly

Is it actually the orange engine management light or just a warning message?

MOT failure should only be for the actual EML.

Engine malfunction indicator lamp (engine management light or ‘EML’)

Turn on the ignition and check that the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates and then goes off. On some vehicles it will be necessary to start the engine before the MIL goes off.

You need to inspect MIL fitted to diesel vehicles including hybrids with 4 or more wheels and first used on or after 1 July 2008.
