Will focus mk3 exhaust fit mk2

Featured Replies

Online there seems to be more variety of exhausts for a focus mk3 zetec as opposed to a mk2 zetec, does anyone know if a focus mk3 zetec exhaust will fit a mk2 zetec

Some parts are the same on some engines for the Mk2 & Mk3.  Would need to know exactly which engine you've got and which exhaust part(s) you're after.

Am interested in this as in recent weeks, my own exhaust has started to sound uncharacteristically sporty!

I think that's the effect the OP is after!

Probably the flexi section on the cat leaking on yours.  Cat setup is the same on Mk2 & Mk3 Focus 1.6 sigma, but the insides are different due to different emissions specs.

It would be a cat back for 1.6 zetec engine

Ok.  There are two different catback setups for the Mk3 1.6 Zetec engines.  The Mk2 only came with the 'pringles can' setup as far as I know.  The tail pipe angle may need to be modified as I'm fairly sure that's not the same between Mk2 & Mk3.  However the centre and backboxes look the same on the 'pringles can' setup so an aftermarket catback may fit.  Best thing to do is compare the box position and bends carefully on any setup that you're looking at buying.

Mk2:

Europe, Focus CB4 2008-2011, 3 Powertrain, 30903 Powertrain.Exhaust Systems, 3090305K Exhaust System; Zetec 1.6 DOHC EFI; Focus 2008-; All Zetec-S 1.6; 1.6L Duratec 16V PFI - Catcar.info

Mk3:

Europe, Focus CB8 2011-2015, 3 Powertrain, 30903 Powertrain.Exhaust Systems, 3090305Z Exhaust System; Zetec 1.6 DOHC EFI; Focus 2011-2015; 1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT - Catcar.info
