Is it a 'Power Fold' mirror, or might this have been replaced previously ?

Never even thought about that . It has the door control to bring them in offside does. Not nearside.

how do I check if it has no power fold?

You will need to get to the connector which is simple enough (lots of YouTube videos). Check that both the nearside and offside mirrors have the same number of wires. I think you may find the nearside is missing a couple.
