Ford focus 2013 ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I have a Ford focus 2013, 1 L eco-boost. Last Monday I was at M25 and I found my car throwing a lot of white smoke. I took it to the garage and a mechanic said me that the head gasket has gone. And it’s expensive work the word pound 1500. As my financial circumstances right now I can’t spend that much money on the car. I don’t know what to do with the car now can anyone suggest to me something ?

Sadly there is no cheap fix for a blown headgasket.  As the car is over 10 years old, it was due a wet cambelt change anyway, which would have cost about the same.

You can try coolant additives such as radweld or steel seal.  However there is a risk to the rest of the cooling system if it goes hard in the wrong places.

The only other option is to cut your losses, sell the car as spares or repairs, and buy another car with whatever you get from the sale.

Agreed, it shouldn't be throwing white smoke on WeBuyAnyCar.com's carpark
